In the early days, everything was done manually. Monthly timetables, notices and signs all done by hand. Membership and Madrasa fees were kept in a paper ledger. The photocopier working hard every day.
Looking back, they were difficult days and mistakes were common. Over the years we have used technology to make things easier and better for our users.
Now we have computers to do most of the work. We have electronic display screens dotted around our Mosque to inform our users of upcoming events. We have electronic door access and automatic door unlocking at prayer times. The heating is also integrated. We would say we have progressed.
It became apparent that we could use all that experience to help other Mosques run their organisations in an easier and more efficient way so that maybe they could avoid the same mistakes that we made.
